First Steps

I feel unsure and apprehensive when starting something new. The fear of failure can be overwhelming, but it’s important to me to persevere and keep trying. Starting my blog is like taking my first steps – it requires trust in myself and in others. Although the risk of falling is present, the potential reward of helping others makes it worth it.

Through my blog, I aim to share my experiences and insights on a variety of topics, including:

  • Disability
  • Mental Health
  • Navigating the medical system
  • Living with chronic pain
  • Never giving up
  • Balancing the demands of life

As I continue on this journey, I anticipate growth and new discoveries that will inspire me to delve into additional topics.

I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own blog and was wondering
what all is needed to get set up? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty
penny? I’m not very web savvy so I’m not 100% certain. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Appreciate it

      Hello Marcus!

I’m sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I had a friend who helped me set up this blog. This website runs on a WordPress server on a cloud VM on Amazon Web Services. The steps that were followed are listed here: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/hosting-wordpress.html We then used Amazon’s domain hosting to register a domain and forward http requests to that server. Sorry if that doesn’t help much because I know you need to be quite tech-savvy to follow those steps.

With the low traffic that I get on the blog, it fits in the Amazon Web Service Free Tier, and all I pay for is the domain name upkeep which ends up being around $25/year total.
